Engagements

The strategy of our engagements is defined by our goal to be perceived as an innovation driver for the world of construction.

With our engagements, we want to drive innovation in the construction industry, i.e. the creation of new products, services and processes. Innovations should equally represent added value for the stakeholders in the world of construction and deliver added value for the common good.

Digital Intelligence plays a central role in this, and we expect it to lead to a productivity or even quantum leap in the construction industry. The possibilities of this technology are therefore a major focus of our activities…

Areas of activity

We currently concentrate our resources on two areas of activity:

STRATEGY FOR OUR ENGAGEMENTS

Our focus TUM and the Georg Nemetschek Institut

We have been supporting research at the TUM Georg Nemetschek Institute – Artificial Intelligence for the Built World (GNI) since 2020 with funding of 50 million euros over 10 years. 20 million of this will go towards equipping the institute with personnel and materials. 30 million are dedicated to funding interdisciplinary research projects.

We support interdisciplinary TUM projects (and GNI manages them with our funding). Each year, there is a call for projects. Between three and five projects a year are chosen by the Scientific Advisory Board and the Board of Trustees to be funded.

We support the GNI with our marketing resources in and beyond our ecosystem.

We help to raise third-party funds for the GNI.

Our collaboration with the University of Applied Sciences Munich

Institute of Applied Building Informatics (iabi) plans to establish two Professors for Applied Building Informatics.

Nemetschek Innovation Foundation finances two research assistants for
10 years.

Our other initiatives and engagements

We create and support collaboration between scientific institutions in Germany and abroad
We organize networking events between adademia and the AECO industry
We organize research/innovation days: experts present their results to the scientific community, industry experts and their customers

We promote the goals of our foundation and those of the Georg Nemetschek Institute outside the TUM cosmos and outside academia
We invest in building an ecosystem of research organisations, businesses and talents committed to the advancement of AI in the AECO world
We honor outstanding research in our field with the Georg Nemetschek Innovation Award

We run workshops to support researchers in preparing research and project proposals
We realise meta-studies on the influence of Artificial Intelligence in the AECO world (e.g. literary reviews).
